Method photography is an image compositing technique based on the perspective alignment of two architectural or landscape photographs about 100 years apart.


It is a technique that uses a digital imaging process to compensate for perspective distortion and misalignments brought about by image plates and lens aberrations synonymous with old style photography. About 80% of the accuracy however comes down to old fashioned composition and perspective callibration.


The Nowthen project is setting out to create a tangible link between our history and our surroundings to propagate more awareness of urban development, by using easily accessible new media, in 4 formats


An online gallery; ‘zoom click’ images
Hi-resolution photo-montage images; up to 1189 x 841mm (47” x 33”)
DVD video; narrated fading / zooming digital movie sequences hi-lighting historic references / changes
CD ROM; interactive display for museum kiosk (eg. ‘Erasing’ image through time)
